Surviving Suffering (Poem)

Sufferings are trials needed to endure,

though cries to Christ release grace as a cure.

Faith amid misery always testify to the lost,

as worldliness wants to overcome at all cost.

All will appear before His Throne alone,

to be judged for a life lived on their own.

And even those forming familiar foundations,

if unsaved, will be sentenced to damnation.

Suffering expose persistent perseverance,

but anguish never justify fleshly interference.

For the solution is applied by the Spirit,

so eternal peace, sinful man may inherit.

The hopelessness being unemployed,

seem trivial compared to a spiritual void.

And the overwhelming material poverty,

seem less damaging than hidden snobbery.

Even the pangs of physical hunger

is less painful than faithless slumber.

And the familiar mockery of belief,

is never more painful than silent grief.

Suffering is the utter and absolute isolation,

when storms create spiritual starvation.

And an inability to rest in His peace;

ravages with doubts, so destinies may cease.

Bravely bearing the cross is a declaration;

and love for Christ through faith is confirmation.

So, when suffering is stared dead in the eye;

to be content, the faithful must try.

Persist to penetrate the dark with light

bearing forward by faith, not sight.

And by graciously embracing the calling;

believers are never defeated, when falling.

Seeking truth for there is much to gain,

and not fearing an enemy, already slain.

Glory to God predestining His winners,

who were once born as dead sinners.

Surely suffering is resisting the Presence

when in this wickedness, love isn't the essence.

But when engaging life's trials triumphantly;

victory is always assured wondrously.

Believe that He holds the afflicted upright

so they can survive the suffering with delight.

Because the Sovereign seeing the bigger picture

always stay faithful to His Scripture.
